The Team
The 2008 12U Northville Bronco Travel Baseball team is sponsored by the Northville Baseball and Softball Association and is comprised of 12 year old players with a birth date after 4-30-95. 

The team will consist of 11-12 players. All players bat in full rotation. Defensive positions and play time will vary, however all players play every game. While rules will vary for each tournament, the format will typically be kid pitch, six innings.

Tryouts
Tryouts for the 2008 12 Year Old Broncos will be held:

Tryout evaluations will be performed by coaches from several different Northville travel/tournament teams, and based on tryout results and rankings, team selections will made the week of September 10, 2007.

Playing Time/Positions
Baseball is a team sport.  Because of this, the coaches will do what is best for the team, including determining what positions and amount of playing time is appropriate for each player.  Players will get playing time based on their attitude, practice habits, leadership and skills.  Those players who excel in these areas will play more than those who do not. 

Commitment
The 12U Broncos will practice approximately twice per week from January through April 2007.  The Broncos will be playing in the Kensington Valley Baseball Softball Association League.  During the season two games and one practice per week will be the norm.

We will also play 4-5 tournaments during the course of the season.  Parents may be asked to help out with concessions, field prep, etc., at some of these games, as Northville will likely host at least one of these events.  We will most likely play in tournaments on Mothers' Day, Fathers' Day and the 4th of July Holiday.  In addition, we may add a post season tournament.

12U is a big year for ballplayers as we will be heading to Cooperstown Dream Park for a week, likely during the month of July.  This will be a week long tournament where players will stay in barracks and play seven or more games.

We expect that during the baseball season (April thru July), baseball will be your son's first priority over other sports (soccer, hockey, lacrosse, etc.).

Costs
The cost for participating on this team is approximately $700 per player.  This fee will cover the costs of uniforms, league fees, tournament fees, some equipment and miscellaneous organizational costs.

In addition, the Cooperstown tournament will cost an additional $850 per player.

Finally, there will be at least one overnight tournament experience that will require travel related expenses including hotel room and meal costs, for which each family will be individually responsible.
